| | From:McMurphy | Subject: Moving On From Atari and Beyond | | Date:Aug/22/05 10:09:50 | I just got this off of ebay last week. True to Tengen tradition, one had to admire the company's choice of seperating themselves from the competition by shaping the carts in a more slick fashion (later editions of the game, however, went back to the basic Nintendo cart format). The game carries over the basic yet somewhat addicting hack and slash approach it held during Atari era arcading while letting a player chose from four character types: archer, warrior, female warrior, and wizard. Repetitive? Naturally, but it is done well. The optional two player ability and the voice sampling (rare in original Nintendo years) helped this game be a classic and invigorate interest in future installments in other gaming consoles. Grade: B+ |
